Anyone heard of TRS winshields?

Anyone heard of TRS winshields? Are they any good?
Body shop said they can get me one for $321.00.
Thinking of getting an 89 windshield for my 88 and up dating the seal.
Thx

Never heard of TRS. Brief google search didn't show up much either. That's close to what I was quoted for my '86. Just under $300 for gasket glass with tint strip at top and antenna. This was for tier 1 vendor. I also got a quote for 993 urethane set glass. $900 for tier 1. Around $300 for tier 2. Same as before with tint strip and antenna. Both cases I would supply the gaskets. Shop would provide and install the glass.

Does your bodyshop actually install glass or just act as the middleman? You may can save a bit if you go straight to a glass installer.

Glass and glass pricing is all over the map. Pricing car vary wildly from shop to shop. Suggested pricing is through the roof. It's fairly standard for glass shops and body shops to discount glass 40%+ from list and still make good profit.

I'd call around and check pricing but ultimately go with whomever I thought would take care of my car same as I would. I'm lucky in that I know a bunch of bodyshops and glass folks who would do this for me and take the same care I would.

ETA: My dad and I are huge Cussler (or whoever is ghost writing for him) fans. Just sent him a new one for Father's Day. Pure escapism but always a fun read.

Thx for the info. The glass guy getting me the WS works with the body shop, but does not work for them. He's independent and I'm dealing with him directly. That price is just for the WS. No seal and no installation.

Pilkington is an OEM supplier isnt it?

I just noticed last night that the seal on my 84 windshield is one of the trim less types.

I live in one of the priciest communities in the country. New tinted windshield with installation, no antenna, $280 three weeks ago including ludicrous local taxes. You should be able to do better.
