Need opinions on carpet color for RSR
My black RSR replica needs lightweight carpets. It has black headliner dash and seats.
Should I go with black carpet or grey? (I've added a pole to this thread so that you can vote as well as chime in with opinions).

I say grey. My car has a black headliner, dash, carpet and seats. As you can imagine, it was way too dark. As a result, I looked at what the factory offered, and decided to use black watch tartan for the door panels, interior quarter panels, and parcel shelf. I also used coco mats, black with blue dots. Additionally, I found a silver vintage prototipo and that really helped brighten things up.
I like my results, but the black carpets show everything. So to avoid my pain, I suggest going with a grey carpet. |

Be advised that LW carpet on the floor of the driver's side wears out VERY fast. Ask me how I know.

Those are both excellent points. Grey might be nice.
As for wear, I suppose I could install floor mats for the street and leave the drivers side stripped on track days. Any other pointers? |

I've been thinking more about your comment. I'm wondering if you would do anything differently? I see the RS kit comes in light weight plush as well as perlon. What are your thoughts?

Well, I have a heavier than a coupe, cabriolet. So to cut weight I did all the tricks including soundproofing and ac removal, LW carpet, fg and cf body pieces etc.....but I did go with coco mats.
Haven't regretted it. ![]()
