hooray! oil temp gauge operational!
woo hoo! just had to let it out.
one of the p/o's had mis-wired the oil temp sender to pin 2 of the 14-pin engine connector instead of pin 3... wiring schematic shows pin 2 as "Oil temperature switch for SPM (optional)". what's SPM? is it the Sporto? anyway, i now have a functional temp gauge after two months and a scary moment on "the grapevine" (socal folks know what this is). by the way, i never really said hello, so... hello pelicanhedz! -chris

by the way, i bought a used replacement combo gauge since i thought that was the problem at first. i thought i'd give you all first dibs before i put it back on ebay...
