Need Feed Back on Wevo G-50 shifter

I have wanted to improve the shifter in my 1987 Carrera. I would really appreciate any feed back from someone who has installed one of these.

I am located in the Ft Worth, Texas area.

Thank you in advance

Since you only want to hear about the Wevo shifter, I won't tell you how much I like the JWest G50 short shift kit that I installed in my 88.

Installing a shifter is only as good as the tranny and the bushings. That being said I love my 915 WEVO.

Do tell about the JWest shift kit !

I installed the JWest rear coupler pillow in my car and it removed a lot of
the fore/aft shifter slop...

Cheers !

I really like my G50 Wevo. It adds quite a bit of precision to the shifting experience. I was told that the upgrade makes the travel feel like a rifle bolt. I was a bit skeptical, and while it's not the same feeling as the rifle, it makes a very noticeable difference and it's all positive. Though it still doesn't, and never will never will feel like an Acura (or any other slick shifting car). I'd certainly buy one again.

never tried one on a G50 car, but for a 915 trans, it is THE best upgrade you can do.. to the entire car..!

Shifter

Thanks for the feed back. Will the Wevo shift as smoother with less effort?

It will shift as well as the stock unit. The WEVO shortens the shift throw and has springs to avoid nicking the wrong gears.

That being said, I love my G50 with stock short throw. I am curious about the comparison of both applications (WEVO vs JWest)

If it matters...
The J West unit works with a stock cover and shift knob. The Wevo looks aftermarket.

Mine looks identical to the way it did before the Wevo. Well mostly, there is a slight bulge in the rear of the boot where some of the mechanicals for the shifter are. Just get the "classic" verson.
