Yet another car vaule question
I would post this over at the early s forum, but they don't usually like discuss prices.
My friend and I have been debating the value of his '71 S race car. He just sees it as an old car. He bought the car almost 20 years ago. It was original, in average condition, with about 70k miles. Since then car has evolved into a competitive D class club racer. Most of the original parts that made in an S have been sold off (sport seats, rear deck lid, etc.). Still has the original motor with MFI, but it has been rebuilt (a couple times) and improvements made (oil by-pass mod, time-certs, etc). The car is relatively rust free (always garaged since new), but has been involved in a couple wrecks (at least one from PO) and not always repaired the best (but good enough to fool most people). What kind price would an original numbers matching car have if it didn't have all its original parts still intact? |
Originality is key to top values for a 911S.
Sounds like this car has a lot going for it but a lot against it too. Hard to judge value as quality of work and condition will drive the price up or down tens of thousands of dollars. If I had to guess a range based on the limited description and no photos: $25k-$75k Just a guess. |

About two years ago, I was given the opportunity to trade a 42K mi '68 911T for a similar '70 911S racecar. It would have been a fair and equal trade in my book.
