Help with oil line ID

Car is a 71 with a 3.2, no front oil cooler. 71 oil tank as far as I can tell.

I want to replace this oil line going from the engine crossover hard line to the oil tank (not the s hose) but want to make sure I order the correct part. It looks similar to Part #: 901-107-331-12 but the hose length looks much longer in the picture.

Are you sure that is a '71 tank? The '71 tanks did not use an S hose. Post a picture of your tank in the engine compartment showing the filler and filter.

A few more details and smaller photos to show the overall layout would help.

It looks like your 3.2 motor has a late 3.2 exhaust, AND your chassis has a late 30mm oil tank. At some point this system has been modified, as the 71 chassis came with M26 Oil lines & Hoses while the 3.2 motor uses 30mm Oil Lines & Hoses.

You will not be able to buy a stock factory oil line that fits because of this.

However, this swap has been done many, many, many times and this Pelican board will guide you to the correct combination.

I thought the oil filter I bought and didn't fit was for a '88 but I double checked and it is '71. I think the tank must be an '88. The exhaust is stock 3.2 heat exh and cat with a b&b single in single out.

I just want to replace the hose as it is seeping from the crimp on the 90* fitting. No plans to add any additional cooling at the moment.

The tank looks to be out of an SC FWIW. Which is an appropriate tank for your motor. The Carrera tanks had an extra vent between the filler and the filter and they had a yellow plastic screw on cap, which your tank apparently lacks.

I'm not an expert on Carrera oiling but I guess that is a factory hose and if you look through the Pelican Parts Catalog you should find a replacement.

IMO, I am surprised that you don't have a front cooler. Now might be the time to consider upgrading to one.

Looks like the line on my 73, but routed differently.

The 88 911 has a front cooler and the hose in question would go to the thermostat.

Your hose goes directly to the tank.

Try a 911-107-742-10 for a 77 911 model. It has the same rear crossover hardline and is without a front cooler.

Not too expensive either.

Don't know how I missed it I must have looked through all the available lines 5+ times. Glad I hadn't ordered the cam lines yet.
