Is this underseat plug important?

Long story/much shortened - replaced the stereo in the puppy ('87 Carrera) - while installing the stereo the seatbelt warning light cover popped off and flew to the black hole of Calcutta under the driver's seat. While putting my fingers where fingers should never go - I discovered this unconnected plug ...

Obviously up until this point I haven't missed whatever it does - but, maybe I should plug it back in.

Oh - the seatbelt warning light cover remains lost, does anyone know if our host sells them - or does anyone have a spare - thanks!!!!!

Don't know anything about the plug, but find that seatbelt light they're VERY hard to find for sale (atleast when I lost mine).

I took a pic of this plug last week and put it in my "What is this ?" folder. Must be for some option that our cars didn't have - anyone ?

I would think so, too. Wondr what option it would be?

I thought our host had these? (maybe, at one point--dunno).....

Ah, sweet mystery...

So maybe next spring when the seats come out to be recovered I'll be able to root around and find out more about the plug and find the unobtanium seat belt warning light cover - thanks for the heads up on the rarity of that particular item chococrazy...

For now - a tiny piece of black plastic cut to the right size is filling the hole, so I don't have to see the little glaring light.

I found that plug under my driver seat while working on the power seat. My seat is a 4 way power seat could this plug be for a 6 way???
