What hardware would you recommend replacing with ball joints?
There seems to be 4 different pieces to replace with the ball joint.
1.Lock Nut for Ball Joint Threaded Pin 2.Threaded Pin for Ball Joint Attachment 3.Nut for Ball Joint to A-Arm Attachment 4.Lock Plate for Ball Joint Bottom Would you recommend replacing any of these pieces when replacing ball joints? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Dean

Replace all ; it is a critical safety item and once done properly won't need doing for many a year. The ball joint nut is quite likely frozen on the thread and not a reuse item. The pin and locknut may look OK but if there's any corrosion, and even if not , it's wise to replace. New locknuts on any situation where you don't want separation!

Discard old parts........
This is a very critical part of your car where you could not afford to fail while driving. Replace both sides when replacing steering ball joints. You are not saving much by using these old and rusted parts. It is prudent to use only new good parts for steering ball joint repair.

I am going to also throw in a while you're there: tie rods. If they have not been replaced go ahead and do it if possible.

Don't know if an allignment is already planned, but if you replace tie rods (go with the Turbo tie rods), then you will need one.

Thanks for the input. I'm doing a complete suspension upgrade over the winter and ball joints are the next purchase for my inventory. I already have new 22/29 torsion bars, smart bars, wevo rear arb mounts and turbo tie rods along with zimmerman rotors.
I'm also very fortunate as rust is non existent on the car, including all fastners underneath the car. I plan on posting a thread documenting the suspension and brake rebuild. Anyways more questions to come. Once again thanks for the response as I find this board to be a great resource. Dean
