89 911 engine fan

Can anyone confirm that the engine fans for all 84-89 Carrera's are the same? If so, what is the part number?

The Carrera fans themselves are all the same, part number is 930.106.012.00. The housing that surrounds the fan impeller carries different part numbers depending on the engine code and year.

I assume you have the broken piece? If so, I'd take it to a TIG welding shop that does aerospace/aircraft repair- Given all the different types of welding rods availabe today, they can probably weld it for a reasonable cost. It would then have to be ground down and sanded smooth to match, and then I would recommend having it balanced.

I had something similar done at a shop in Phoenix years ago- they produced welded jet engine parts for Garrett AirResearch. The guy who fixed a oil cooler for me had the most perfect, and tiny, TIG welds you have ever seen.....

If you can't find a shop to do it, send me a PM and I will ask a buddy in PHX about it. He builds $50k +++ 911 race engines- if it can be fixed, he will know who can do it. If you do end up sending it to PHX, Jim Patrick/ Patrick MotorSports, can check the balance, although any good machine shop that the local raceguys use could do the same.....

Tim
