garage question

Anyone ever take the p-car to German Auto Specialist in Plymouth Meeting, found a screw in my tire and do not feel like driving to my usual mechanic who know the car so we, but not so close

I use NTB in King of Prussia for tire stuff. Is there one near you?

A screw in your tire can be fixed at home quite effectively using those rope-cord repair kits found everywhere, auto-parts, wal-mart, etc.

Otherwise, any tire shop can fix this for you, don't need a p-car mechanic to do it...

Good luck!

I guess you are worried about them jacking up the car the wrong way?

why not just jack the car yourself remove wheel and take it to a normal tire shop?

+1 this is so amazingly simple to do in your driveway, why wouldn't you? It's actually faster than taking the car (or the wheel alone) to the local shop.

Go for it!

I've had normal tire shop leave scratches in the wheel..... never again, I'll drive an extra 20 minutes to bring it to someone I trust.

I pushed a sticky worm into my neighbor's 4X4 pickup truck tire and it was nasty hard to push it in there with all of the steel belting. No leaks - two years later.

I agree, not worth some ape banging up my car. I have done this quite a number of times.
1) Buy kit - I got mine in kmart
2) Jack up car
3) Remove wheel
4) Clean hole with file looking tool
5) Put sticky worm thing on hook tool
6) Put in hole so that the 2 ends are still pointing out (about 1/2 way through)
7) futz around with hook tool until it releases worm
8) cut off excess worm from hol
9) fill tire with air
10) put tire on car
11) Drive car around block a few times to heat up and bond hole
12) Gaze at wheel with pride knowing you did it your self
