Looking for rubber boot for oval hole near shift linkage pass through
I have searched through the parts catalog and cannot find the rubber boot that covers the oval hole near the shift linkage pass through in the tunnel. The only thing that goes through that hole on my 79 SC are the speedo wires. Anybody have any idea??

You could probably use the same boot that seals the accelerator linkage where it passes through the bulkhead on the other side of the gear linkage.

The seal is part of the assembly for the speedo wire.
Look up this part 911-606-209-00-M100 Pelican Parts - Product Information: 911-606-209-00-M100 Since the unit is $150 you now can free yourself from guilt by considering the $11 piece Poyboynz suggests. 911-423-593-01-M104 Look at your accelerator linkage boot and see if it may work. The accelerator boot appears longer and I don't think there is a lot of room front to back as there is where the gas pedal linkage comes out. This is just from memory. Not climbing under there this morning. :-) Here is the accelerator rod seal. Is this what you are thinking porboynz? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343224943.jpg |
Thats what I would use, if its too tight you could cut it down a little and then use a zippy tie to make it water tight against the wiring.

Great idea. I'm sure I can make that work especially for the cost savings. Thanks Guys.
