'73 Targa Windshield Pillar problem...
In preparing my car for paint, I started checking out the interior for potential H2O damage/rust after so many years of being untouched. I found a soft spot on the inside passenger side windshield upright/pillar, which means that it has probably had years of seeping water under the targa seal and/or through the windshield seal.
There isn't any perforation through the exterior--probably just on the inside, underneath the vinyl. Has anyone had this issue with their targa? I suspect it isn't an uncommon occurrence, especially with targas. Any tips for repair as well as good sources for new vinyl for these areas of the interior? Thanks in advance!! ------------------ |

You've been waiting two years for an answer? (As the first post is dated 10/16/2000.) I too suspect it's an uncommon occurrence. I'd get someone or yourself, if you do bodywork, to repair it. Good luck.
