Please help, just moved to stuttgart

My family and I just PCS'd to Stuttgart. We have been here a few weeks now, enjoying the roads and the great weather.

This week, I have begun my search for a Porsche mechanic and found it to be a difficult task. Porsche directed me to their Porsche Classic Workshop in Freiburg, DE which is too far (about 2hrs) to drive, I also visited a couple of Independent mechs who, once they saw the engine, told me they could not help me - one of which I thought could help, builds cars for a GT3 Cup Racing Team and displayed numerous Trophies in his office.

I am hoping I could find some fellow Pelicanites that have been in my situation and can assist in helping me find a decent (pref english speaking) Porsche Mechanic in this area.

Thanks in advance to those who can help..I appreciate it.

Javier

This doesn't have to do with your problem. But don't forget to visit the Nurberg Ring. It is about to go bankrupt, and who knows what will happen? My prediction is that it will not get cheaper.

If you can't find a good Porsche mechanic there, at the cradle of the 911, where else could you!!!

There are a couple a German 911 web sites you might want to check or post an inquiry:
Porsche 911 Baujahre 1964 bis 1989

PFF - unabhängiges Porsche-Magazin & Forum

Good luck
Jurgen

p.s.
I grew up ca. 60 miles from there!
Oh btw, owning a 911 in Germany is a lot more expensive than in the US! Lets hope someone told you this before you took her over there.
