Porsche in the Park (UK Pelicans in here ->)

I read about this event in 911 & Porsche World, it is at some country house near York. Is anyone going? Has anyone got any more information of it?

edit/ forgot to say that it is this weekend 25/26th May

Check out my 'I'm going' post. Pressed the new topic instead of reply, Doh.

No, I can't make it either - bit too far to go from the South coast, especially when my car is awaiting my return (still) for me to put it back together again!!!!

Anyone know how much entry is? I can't take my 911 but it is only about 120 miles from me so is not too bad a trip.

I went to Highclere last year, and I must admit I was disappointed. If you weren't part of the "PCGB in-crowd", you didn't feel particularly welcome. I visited the local regions stand, mid-morning, and there was nobody on it...lots of beautiful cars, not much atmosphere.

I'm going on the Sunday. It is about a 3.5 hour drive (sticking to the speed limits) from my house, which is in the vacinity of Layzee's - more like 190 miles from Harpendon to Castle Howard.

I have a shopping list of goodies I'd like to find, some of which are bulky. The wife and kids want to tag along as well so I can't take the 911 and get the parts as well.

Big Mac - I don't really reside in Harpenden any more - although my 911 does

I live in Lancaster, a bit closer to York

How much is the entry fee? I have asked for details on the website but it doesn't say much.

Unfortunately circumstances dictate that I can't make it either. Supposed to be a good show though.

Getting my service done at Specialist Cars on the 29th so should be able to find out how it went.

True Brit - know what you mean about Highclere - it's a bit like walking into a local village pub and everyone turns to watch the stranger!

Autojumble was rubbish too!

I telephoned Specialist Cars to enquire on the admission fee. You will not believe this - it is £5.00 per person if you arrive in a non-Porsche and £6.00 if you do! Children are free.

The extra £1 goes to charity and allows you to park on the lawn in front of the house/castle.

The weather forecast looks a bit grim though. The 5 day forecast for the Leeds area is showers. No point planning a picnic then.
