Carpet differences
 

How does the carpet kits/installs vary in fit between a pre 73 and a post? I know the differences in OEM manufacturing, but would a 73 coupe carpet fit a 74 coupe body shell? Did that much change in floor pan shape among the tb cars that they are not interchangeable? Or is it a fitments issue with adjacent vinyl panels that prevents them from cross reference if you'd like the older look in a 74- car?

No one? I have custom square weave carpets made for my 73'. But after some thought, I was debating on using it in the 84' since the carpet set was made in the wrong color. I wanted Oatmeal and it came Charcoal....I have tan panels, dash and seats :(.

So, again I ask of the knowlede base: Can you install LWB carpet set in say an SC?

Useless-- you might as well sell it to me for pennies on the dollar!;-p

The body shell is fundamentally the same, certainly the floor and tunel didn't change - so it's likely to fit. The differences are going to be in the various equipment mounting bosses such as seatbelt anchor locations, 915 vs 901 transmission hole, seat runners, and other small things that possibly changed.

Thank you John. That was my thoughts and it was designed for a 73 with 915 so probably not much differences there. I couldn't visualize a difference myself and was trying to not bother Garcia at Autobahn Interiors, who did a wonderful job. It really looks nice as a RS style German sq weave on my basement floor, but surely even better in a car.

I knew if I bugged those in the "know" long enough someone would answer such a basic question. All is good again in the Pelican universe of no question goes unanswered :)
