Sonoma Engine Drop Clinic
Just returned home from a fabulous time at the Sears Point ALMS.
The $50 million renovation of the 40 year-old facility, defiies description. It's fantastic!! As usual, I spent a *lot* of time in the pits. The major teams now have the luxury of working out of spacious, clean, and well-lit garages. What a change from the old days. For Porsche fans there was much to see. The folks at The Racers Group and Alex Job/McKenna teams, kindly accommodated us into their garages for photos. Here's a few shots of the #66 Racers Group GT3-R receiving a new motor, fresh from the crate. The round trip to remove and replace the motor took about 15 unhurried minutes. The ultimate "engine drop clinic"! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow Doug, great pic's...looks like a great trip too.
That rear crossmember engine mount looks a little beefed up compared to the (cracked) part from Super's car that you, Island and I were looking at ![]() Cheers! |
