2.2/2.4 to 3.0l power gains

Hi.As of now my car is running like a champ, but as many others who have been bitten by the hp bug, were always looking for more.So I will be keeping my eyes open for any good deals that I may stumble across.my question is this.who here has swapped out a 2.2/2.4 not 100% sure what mine is still, for a 3.0 and what kind of gains have you seen.would a 3.2 be that much better?i have a 327 abc sitting under my bench looking for a home!

I put a 1986 3.2 in my 1973.5. I have alway loved the 2.4cis, but the smooth torque and horsepower increase of the 3.2 was really great.

I had this 3.0/3.2 engine put into my 73.5:

FS engine and transmission.

209 RWH with early exhaust.....Healthy improvement for sure...

Where are we starting? E S T (assuming T).

MFI, Zenith, CIS or Webbers

You mentioned I'm assuming a SBC under the workbench (cause if it was a Ford, it'd have a home ) Do you prefer the short stroke rpm of a 327 or the stroker torque pull of a 383/400? Its a little the same. A 2.7 with cam and MFI/Webbers can be fast and fun at upper rpms. The stock 3.2 will have the BBC like flat torque band that just pulls from everywhere. The odd thing using the loose analogy is that the 3.2EFI will get better mpg than a strung 2.7 easily.
