central lock wiring

i have a 84 930 the PO had removed the central locking function and replaced it with a really 1980s graphic eq. etc etc. i am getting her back to glory days and picked up a central lock piece that mounts in the console. on the back it has a wire bundle with 2 leads coming out of it. i cant find two leads to plug it into. i am thinking that it was removed or i am looking in the wrong place. does anyone have any pics on where these wire mate up? any input is appreciated . thx guys

j930-

Well, you have one of those new young-whipper-snapper 930s with all those new-fangled do-dahs like central locking!! Back in the early days of my '77 930, such things hadn't been invented yet.........

My son has a '88 Carrera with the central locking- great feature, and hard to lock yourself out of the car.... We just replaced all the shift bushings, so we had all that area apart. The plugs for the A/C controls and the Central Locking were just forward of the console, and came from under the forward tunnel carpet on the pax side, and disappeared behind the wooden pax side foot panel.....

You have probably already looked there.... if not, pull out the pax side carpets, remove the foot panel, and see if it's tucked behind there. Two wires to the plug as I recall. Let me know if you find them. I can go out and look in the '88, and/or look in the circuit diagram for the colors of the wires for you.

Good luck-

Tim
