Air Dam replacement question

Is it necessary to replace the winshield washer reservoir when upgrading an 82SC to the later carrera style air dam. I've just tried to install it and it doesn't seem to want to clear. If it must be replaced, will the existing bracket and strap still work. I've gotten a few responses to this question in the past and the answers were mixed.

I also think I have found the cause of all my refrigerant loss. Looks like the front condensor is leaking judging from the oily film on it.
