Brake Upgrade Help Needed

Hey all, I just got my first 911 and I need help regarding brake upgrade. My car is a 1975 911 and I'd like to put nicer brakes on it. If I had unlimited funds I'd put the big red brakes but unfortunately I don't have $3k to spend on that. Someone suggested that I put the front Boxter S kit with the nice drilled rotors and the 911 adapter kit for $1500 and put 89 Carrera rotors and calipers in the back because they're bigger than what I currently have. The $1500 is also kind of steep for me right now. If the 1989 Carrera brakes are bigger and better, can I just get a set of new Zimmerman front and rear drilled rotors set and find some Carrera calipers for my car? Would this work? If not can you maybe give me some other options?
I appreciate any help.
Thanks!

In order to use the bigger "A" calipers from a Carrera, you need the struts to match. The "A" calipers have a 3.5 in. bolt spacing. Your current struts have caliper mounts that are 3 in. bolt spacing.

Thanks Kevin! Anyone else has any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks!

Aside from rebuilding the OEM calipers, adding a brake cooler kit, better pads, tires and fluid, you are limited until you change the strut to the 3.5 inch spacing.
