Early Koni adjustment?
I have the Koni adjustables on my car. The old kind you have to take out of the car to adjust. Do I need a spanner wrench to get them out? I can't get the front ones to break loose and it looks like I need a spanner to hold it in place while I break the nut loose. Is it a readily available tool?
Also when you adjust these all the way stiff, how is the ride?

Shawn,
A 24 mm socket on a breaker bar and a pipe wrench or Channelock pliers are all that are generally needed at the front. Sometimes an impact wrench will help, I am told, but I have never needed one, yet!

Warren,
Thanks for the reply. I never thought about a pipe wrench because I was so preoccupied with finding a spanner to fit. Sometimes a different perspective is all you need. Kinda like we wonder why dogs drink outta the toilet and dogs wonder why we pee in the waterbowl. ![]()

It's very stiff if you adjust them up too high. Too stiff! But fun.
Probably better to back them off a few turns.

Yeah, I got the riot act read to me by the Koni service guy for having my shocks set with too little (much?) rebound (I mean set too stiff). I bought the car that way, so not my fault!
It explained why the handling was fairly crap...

So I should go all the way up, then back maybe two clicks? This is such a pain I only want to do it once.
