Source for Touch Up Paint
My 73T is "bleu metallic" - Paint code 334. Unfortunately the PO touched it up with what looks like Gemini Blue (a shade lighter). Went to the dealer today to pick up correct paint and was informed it was discontinued.
Anyone have a source for original color touch ups? Thanks! |

Go to your automotive paint store, or go to a body shop that does Porsches and other high end cars. Either will mix it for you. Understand this: metallic paint will come out lighter or darker depending on the air pressure used at the gun. It will also differ from an HVLP gun to a conventional gun. If you don't know what I just said, don't paint it yourself. I mean that in a friendly way.

I agree, go to paintscratch.com. They matched my paint code perfectly. I was very satisfied!

Any competent auto paint store can mix you up some touchup paint. They can put it in a rattle can for you, too. Metallic paints are difficult/impossible to patch perfectly.

I've got to put a plug in for Tower Paint. I heard about it on this board. I faxed them my paint code and the result was a perfect match. A 16 oz spray can. Inexpensive and fast service.
They may have online ordering by now. My business with them was about five months ago. http://www.towerpaint.com/index2.html Good Luck ------------------- Bob Sauerteig '87 Coupe |
