Porsche Crest More trivia -Measured exhaust temperature

I had a long flexible thermowell from work and inserted it into my Dansk muffler. The measurement is with SSI's. Immediately after a brief drive, it measured 464 degF on each side (dual out Danske). Within 5 minutes at idle, it settled out at 420 degF on both sides.

Now I know why my paint fades on my rear bumper.

That figure is in the ballpark with my measurements. During product testing, I measured about 400ºF surface temp. at the heat exchanger pipe next to the valve cover. Yes, the paint on my license plate panel wants to melt too.
