Ducktail on an SC, pics

I saw this SC parked outside the bank, and took a couple pictures. No idea who the owner is, but from the badge, he seems to be one of the SCWDP Faithfull.

I wondered what an SC would look like with a ducktail, not too bad.

I dunno, Tom.
To me, it looks like another feeble attempt to make a r-gruppie clone out of an otherwise decent car. To each his own.

I like. Wouldn't mind trying this on mine sometime. Could always swap back to the standard lid.

Tom,

I like it more than the larger spoiler, but I am a fan of the earlier cars. Thanks for the pictures!

Just cannot put up with rust and few of the earlier cars have not rusted somewhere or I would get a earlier car. Am still thinking of retroing my 85 with early fenders, hood and fiberglass bumpers and a ducktail of course.

Actually, the `74-`75 2.7L Carrera's looked exactly like that from the factory (impact bumpers, SC/Carrera flares, & duck tail). All that is missing is the "Carrera" side script. However, I would definitely remove the SC badge from the tail, that just doesn't look right.

I like it. I like the badge placement. It wouldn't look right in the middle, IMO.

I would probably go this route if I had a 78-89.

Joe,

Let me know if you get started with adding the earlirer bits to your car - I'm thinking of doing the same. It would be good to get some help from someone whos done it already. Likewise, if I get started I'll let you know.

So far, I've found a cheapish place for fibreglass bumpers and spoilers but the early wings and bonnet seem to be the expensive part in the UK. Also, someone mentioned that some of the panels for the latches on the hood and bonnet might need altering.

Cheers - Stefan

For better or worse, I've got a ducktail in my garage, and a used chin spoiler on the way...by August my 1978 SC will have made the transformation. I like it.

See that DougZ...that's a period after that sentence. No comma's, but's, if's...nothing. It looks good. I might even have it together by the roundup in July!.

And I was thinking about the badge on the back, I'll try the centre first, and take it from there.

I think the SCRS had a duck tail. It was a Paris to Dakar looking car.

Ummmm, if I hadn't seen a picture I probably would have never given this idea a second thought. Having seen it, however, I must admit I like it (especially from the rear).

I can only hope my honesty doesn't hurt my status in the SCWDP.
