you would need an early carrera or 930 3.0 case with the smaller flywheel seal area. those cases used a 2.7 crank and rods.

Got the parts?

I have the motor disassembled with a BLANK CASE if you are interested. Kind of like the early Chevy 327 with the small journal crank vs later big journal cranks if you were into Vettes, etc.. It is about low rotating mass as in the 75-77 3.0 Turbo/Carrera/Euro motors. BTW you will be competing against die hard racers & Turbo/Carrera restorations for the parts. You can also save a lot of cash by getting a Supertech crank that fits the SC case and save the NOS parts to keep the old Turbos & Carreras alive.

I have an expensive disassembled motor

The small journal AL case concept is very appealing but it is going to be expen$ive for anything short of a pure race application. If I sell, I am interested in selling the whole pile for $10K. IMHO my blank case is best suited for a collector car with a blown motor because of the very high case price. Many C3 Carreras are missing the numbers motors because of the highly desired sport racing 2.7 motor build. Price a custom 2.7 SC crank from Henry at Supertech for a 3.0 SC case. The custom crank can be ground take the better rods of your choice too. IMO Early rods are a little weak compared to what is available today. A used C3 case with numbers can easily run $3-$5K and an SC complete motor core can be had for about the same. IMHO See what the 2.7RS crank is worth and call Henry.
