Wayne,
If you are going to carry them, you may want to check with them again! They are advertised in the latest Excellence by your 'friends' in Van Nuys!

That looks like a fun toy. Although I tend to use my own personal traction loss sensor, located at the base of my posterior, to tell me when I'm skidding.
I also have a warning buzzer that goes off when that happens. It sounds like "AIIIIGHGHGHH!", and only goes off when I'm skidding out of control towards something unyielding, like, say, a concrete wall.

I haven't seen much of the new G-Tech, although the original is not much more than a toy.
About a year ago I got a unit from Race Technology in England - their AP-22 model. Aside from a bunch of pre-programmed stuff, including the ability to do acceleration timing between various speeds. It has a good correction for roll and squat. The best feature, though, is the ability to log data from the two accelerometers. By setting a sampling frequency of 10 per second, it is possible to store 10 minutes of data, enough for several laps at most tracks. it then quickly downloads to Excel on a laptop, and provide graphs of the sort atached. It is really useful for working on smoothing out technique. Their website is: http://www.race-technology.com/ Bob '84 Carrera '69 Lotus 7 '95 Audi S6 '00 MPV '88 F150 |

Yeah, Mark ... those alarms sound pretty useless to me! I hope they can be turned off during an autocross!
Actually, the 'plain' model without the PC interface cable and software doesn't have much appeal, either! The data acquisition capabilities for $299 sound like a better deal than the current G-Cube or the original G-Analyst that Mike Valentine sold from '86 thru '97! I kept waiting for the price to come down on the G-Analyst ... but it NEVER DID! At $395 plus $149 for the serial interface and software ... the G-Analyst was a bit steep! For those interested in doing a bit of reading on the subject of vehicle dynamics and data acquision haedware and software ... http://www.google.com/search?as_q=geez&num=100&hl=en&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=data+acquisition&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images

Too big to fail

Sounds like a cool toy. I have the current version. It's fun to play with, but I'm not sure of it's accuracy. For example, I did a couple of testing runs tonight:
![]() I mean, how can a lowly '77 911 targa - probably the least desirable of all the 911 series - pull a 4.70s 0-60? Oh yeah, that's right - I threw everything overboard for tonight's test run
