Question pedal cluster...

Well, my clutch pedal is quite hard to push; I have noticed that there is a "helper spring" on SC and 3.2 that my '76 Carrera 3.0 does not have. what is its fonctionnality? is it normal that my car doesn't have one? could it be benefit to make my cluth easier? is it suitable for my car type?

By the way, my brake pedal is too smooth at the begining (non assisted brakes); I don't mean that my car do not brake, especially since I changed all the stuff; No, it's more a feeling, just like there's a wearing at the begining of the breaking. Is the pedal adjustable? how can I fix it?

Thanks again and congratulations for this Board, which is so much more "mature" the ones we have here...

Olivier (still French, but I try to fix it ...)

Hmmmmmm.

Clutch pedal helper spring? The parts diagrams >'73 show a couple of variations. I do know the '74, '75 and '77 930's had them. You may be missing one.

I believe that the spring was indeed a helper to make it easier to operate however in my case the thing does seem sort of wierd. It was probably was used because of the limited ability to change fulcrums within the existing linkages.

Good luck,
David Duffield
