Newbie question, could use some direction 82sc
 

Today I noticed the drivers front turn signal is not working. I replaced the bulb and still nothing. All other turn signals work both front and back. Is there a fuse that controls just that corner? Is so where is the fuse panel?

Could be a ground issue. Fuse panel is in the front trunk, drivers side panel with black cover. If you are handy, get the Bentley manual and Wayne's 101 projects as they will help you tremendously. Welcome and we would love to see pics of the vehicle...kinda mandatory around here for all newbiwes :=)

Thanks for the response. When I fuse is at fault, would it take out the left or right side completely? Or just a corner like in my case?

There is a fuse box in the front trunk on the right side. If I recall properly, it has labels inside the fuse box lid. They are rather hard to read without good lighting, however.

Someone with more knowledge of the electrical system will probably chime in soon and can give you more info, but I'd start by looking at that fuse box carefully.

Sure enough front left blinker yellow fuse broken. Is our host the best place to get them or does local auto parts sell them as well?

Maybe local, but these are "old school" fuses. I ordered 2 packs (variety) and keep them in my garage.

+1 on keeping extras ! PP sells the variety packs with all the ones we use !!

My local Pep Boys carrys the old type bullet fuses in 3 amperages.

My R side front blinker is out. Must be the day for it.

My previous owner had left a large stock of extra fuses in the smuggler's box - I would suspect your car came with some hidden somewhere as well.

Where is this smuggler's box I keep hearing about?

Open the front trunk, pull back the carpet and look in the left rear floor area. You will see the lid to the smugglers box.

Both Autozone and Advance Auto sell the fuses.

OK, I managed to locate and install the correct 5 a yellow bullet fuse from a local supplier (20/$10.00). Question I have is do these fuses get old and fail or do they fail when a bigger problem is happening...IE. short or bad ground. I hear different opinions depending on who I speak with. I guess since I have replaced the fuse, things seem to be holding fine, so maybe bad fuse.:confused:

Interested to hear other P-Guys experiences....

Yes to both...they fail when old or corroded and they are the fail safe when an overload happens...this is just like your house that has an overloaded circuit and the braker pops.

The electrical diagram can answer that. You can find it in the tech info center.

Leaning over the driver's fender you count fuses from the front to the back. The black cover over the fuses also tell you where they are.

The main fuse for the back up lights and turn signal is fuse 11 (16amp). Fuse 10 is front left and fuse 9 is front right.

Fuse 9 or 10 (5amps each) can blow and you only lose a front corner blinker. Lose fuse 11 and you got nothing.
