Windshield washer plumbing

I am trying to re-assemble my windshield washer system and I'm having some difficulty getting it working.

I followed the plumbing as per the parts catalog pic but I get no water through the sprayers. When it wasn't working I checked the placement of the tubes on the pump and also the 3 fittings on the reservoir cap and it corresponds to the pic.

I'm not sure why there is a T piece to connect the sprayers to the reservoir and the pump - maybe this is some kind of pressure relief setup?

To try and troubleshoot it I pulled the tube labelled 2B from the pump and when I suck I can hear the water in the reservoir bubbling. When I blow all I can hear is air. I then pulled the tube labelled 2G from the T-piece and when I suck I get water.

I am missing the valve on the right hand sprayer but I cannot see how this would affect it.

I am hoping someone can confirm how it's supposed to be plumbed together and possible help me to sort it out.

Thanks.

I assume that the pump runs.....you can verify that water is going thru the tubes....most of my experience with blockage is at the smallest orifice. The sprayers themselves.

They sometimes can be cleared by compressed air, otherwise buy new. If they are clogged up so bad that lime away or air won't clear them you can try a narrow gauge wire....as a last resort.

I just did a complete claning of my 79SC windshield washer system that was clogged with old jelly-like black mold. I found out that the factory diagram is wrong regarding where the 3 hoses connect to the tank top. I made a corrected drawing with descriptions of the functions of the components. Hope it helps:

Thanks for this. I'll try that and see how I go. It's a pity the reservoir is not more accessible to swap those tubes around!

I'm also missing the L shaped check valve so I'll check my box of old parts to see if I can locate it.

Thanks also Joe Bob. I am using all new water lines plus the sprayers are new.
