Early T... wrecked!

I was driving around today and saw this at a local body shop. It looked like a 73T that had been in beautiful condition prior to the mishap. It clipped something (probably a big SUV) in a bad way, just above the T's bumper.

The A pillar is deformed backwards about 2" and the roof is pushed up about 1" on the right side.

It had all sorts of nice upgrades including a Carrera oil cooler.

A couple of pics...

Just so no one gets too sick looking at all that bone, muscle and sinew hanging out of that car, I also snapped some shots of my car while I had the camera out...

That would be a nice parts car though. Since it is at a body shop does that mean they are going to try to repair it?

Sad to see that though

My thoughts exactly, Shawn. A very sad sight. My heart goes out to the owner, whomever he is. Just by looking at the car, you can tell it was an appreciated and much loved vehicle. All that said? IF it's considered a total, and I'm guessing it is, (no longer a "straight" unibody)...gosh, I'd bet it has stuff on it that a lot of early 911 phreaks would love to have as spares. A LOT of good though NLA "stuff" in that car. A bit like organ donation, I guess. Hope it all goes to a good cause...

Ouch! Let's hope there wasn't a passenger in there when it happened.

John - which body shop here in NOVA has it?

It's at...

Doug,

It is at Matchless.

My guess is it will be declared a total loss -- the damage to the front end was quite serious and the unibody would need a lot of time on a rack! A shame, if that turns out to be the case, because 2/3's of the car is still in fantastic condition.

I poked my head inside... no obvious signs of injuries to the occupants, but you never know. I hope no one was hurt seriously in either vehicle.

Ebay "Easy Fix"

Looks like a candidate for an ebay easy fix ad.

It probably just ended up at the body shop because the owner was still in shock and denial after the wreck. The wrecker driver probably said "I know a good body shop I could tow it to" knowing it's totaled but he wants to make money on storage. You agree because you don't want to tow it home because you know you can't fix it and it has to go somewhere.

Sad. Looks like he might have been making a left on yellow and caught a late car going threw the intersection.

Is it my imagination or did the right turn signal somehow survive the collision?
