HElP need more power
Was wondering what everyone else is doing as far as more power is concerned. I just had custom headers and a dual in dual out exhaust put in, also a custom p-chip. Made a huge difference, but I need more. What is the next step? I also had the oil cooler moved to up under the front valance. Anyone have any thoughts?

Increase displacement, turbocharge, supercharge, transplant a 3.6. There's tons of stuff to do to increase power. Bring cubic $$$.
To get a little more power for a little more $$, try a bored out throttle body (AJ USA, $300) and convert your air filter over to a cone style. |
I wannted to keep the same 3.2 platform. Went with an open design airbox as opposed to the cone style. Is it better to supercharge over turbo charging?? and what about a higher pressure fuel billet, have seen one advertised, i think in tweeks, adjustable from 1lbs to 5lbs. Not sure if it will make a bigger differnce or not also not sure if the bored out throttle body will make that big of a differnce. Have you had either done on your car??

you could try MAF which is what i have been considering.
then i believe the choice is 3.6, turbo, or sc. personally, i am beginning to like the turbo idea. just pips the sc imho.:D |
What about reducing weight of your car?

Most of the various bolts-ons besides exhaust and chip really don't do much for what they cost. The cone filter is an easy mod and you might like the sound more than the slight horsepower loss it affords. I haven't seen any evidence to indicate a larger throttle body makes any (positive) difference. In theory it should reduce low end response. Big Bore Throttle Bodies advertises in Excellence. They don't list their price anymore but I think it was under $100. Fuel pressure regulators are another solution for a problem most people don't have. My 3.4L ran with the stock regulator and injectors last year and it's fuel demands are bound to be greater than a 3.2's. Now weight savings makes a nice difference. Once you start doing this you can get carried away though. My name used to be "Bennett" but I changed it to "Bennet" (dropped the 2nd "T") to save weight. :D -Chris |
