OK! OK! Own up! Who was it?!?!?
I'd like to know who the dude was in the Red 911SC Coupe last night who tried to run me along Wells Rd (around Aspendale -> Chelsea)
![]() Just wanna say, it was a blast and I admire your cockiness ![]()

I'm suprised you saw another 911. I go to Sydney every couple of months and as per usual look out for 911's on the road. The most I've seen in a day would be one. And they tend to be slightly boring ones like 996's. I thought in a big old town like sydney there would be lots of them?

I'm actually in Victoria, not Sydney. There are a few 911's around, but I don't see many in the evenings around the Sth Eastern suburbs.

Probably was me...but I'll never admit it. Frankly, anybody, anywhere on the planet? If you look for a true driving experience? In the 911 realm? It hasn't happened since 1973.

I asked one of the Sydney Westies around here where all the 911's are and he said they tend to be in the eastern suburbs. I think judging by all the Aussie Pelican heads, other than John, It all seems to be happening in Melbourne.

G'Day Matt,
It had a Turbo tail on it and from what I could see, cloth trim. I didn't take note of number plate unfortunately. Afterwards, I had to return a video at the Patterson Lakes Video library and it was parked there. Waited around a few minutes, but didn't end up seeing the guy...

Merv,
His (on-road) behaviour is not consistent with that of other 911 drivers, and certainly not knowing 911 drivers! I'd say he's part of the banzai brigade -- his car is probably 'hot'! Merv,
I've been thinking, maybe this guy is Melbourne's answer to Kurt B, and not some ex-XC Cobra-driving felon! Matt Holcomb 1974 911 Carrera 2.7 RoW 1975 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Dedicated Homepage Engine Rebuild Homepage Porsche Owners Gallery Profile Pelican Gallery Profile |

Merv,
I'll give you a drag race, come to the Rob Roy Hillclimb Challenge on the 16th. It's basically an uphill straight with a dip, a bridge and a couple of small twists at the end. Takes less than 30 seconds. 380HP vs. 217 What do you say? Cheers, VC (Oh god, I've bitten off more than I can chew, this could be worse than my ill fated WRX day) ![]() |

Turning right, out of my office carpark onto the main road is a real bugger in peak hour especially when I have to tackle the gutter ditch on an acute angle to avoid bottoming the front end.
![]() We were fogged in which made it more risky. I waited and waited and I couldn't believe my luck when I noticed a pair of headlights pulling up to let me in. I shot out tapping my horn in thanks and waited up a bit to wave. Typical! He was driving a 911, thumbs upping me as he went past. ![]() I'd have done the same (for a fellow 911) but "its moments like these " that stick in my mind. It would never enter my mind to pick a "street race" with another Porsche. ![]() My lame sense of fun, I'd prefer cruise side by side and hog the lanes at the speed limit. ![]()

Sounds like fun Vic. I've never done a Hillclimb race! It'd be a blast.
Does Stuart go to these events too?

Hmmm - car is in at Weltmeister today having a major service. Maybe I should ask Matty to re-adjust my Konis?
Seano, I agree. I typically don't race other P-Car owners unless they act cocky with me ![]() Like this SC guy, I came up next to him to give him a wave and smile and he drops it down to 2nd and plants it, so I think "What the?" and did the same. Only this time, I didn't bother to sit beside him ![]()

Oh I see. Why would he do that?
So he must be one of those "not one-of-us on this forum - PCV wankers" ![]() I bet you wiped the smug look off his cocky dial, but you were too far ahead to look back and see. ![]()

There is actually a few of us up here in God's Country (Queensland). Most cars are in the Gold Coast and Brisbane area, but I'm told there are a few of us up north. I'm still yet to find another 911 here in Townsville though
![]() I shall return south one day.

Not sure Seano. I was just cruising along Wells Rd and I spotted him making a right at a round-about onto Wells Rd. I was past the round about at this point. Anyway, I was just cruising along and he came up behind me and overtook. As he overtook, I looked over and he waved, so I applied a little bit of throttle and went beside him just to return the friendly gesture. That's when he decided to plant his foot and go for it.
After the first waxing, he came and tried again and failed miserably. Then he was behind me at the intersection and I decided to leave him in puffs of expelled excess fuel as I accelerated up through the gears ![]()

I'm actually thinking of disconnecting my Idle Contact microswitch from my ECU so that the Motronics doesn't cut fuel on decel. This dumps a large amount of fuel through the turbine which 'supposedly' generates those glorious flames
![]() Not too sure how it'd idle tho ![]()

Yeah! I saw that done, at the 2000? F1 AGP. What did they call it? "Dump n' Burn"? out of the back of a screaming low altitude F1-11? Anyway it was something as menacing and spectacular.
