Does anyone know where I could browse for used parts for my 911? All of the junkyards I have spoken to say they do not know where to find used body parts, I am specifically looking for the rusted common panels underneath, and suspension parts. (also wheels.) I would think there would be a couple places that specialize in this...

Where do you live? In Southern California there are a few dismantlers who specialize in Porsches.

I'm in New Mexico. I usually have to send off for everything I need, so distance is not an issue. Can you name a couple as an example? Thanks-

Try these dismantlers: www.911pcar.com/ or www.20thstreetauto.com - I have bought a few things from 20th Street, here in Phoenix.

I do remember seeing an ad for an engine a while back from 20th St.
Thanks, I'll check these out!

A lot of the panels are cheaper new than used - check out our Chassis section:

Wayne, you are right. I've called around for both new and used, and compared all of the prices I was quoted and found that your prices for the panels that I need (ie. front suspension pan+) are better. You have beat all of the new panels $$, and even one quote I got for a used set. You'll see my order very soon- Thanks.
I was able to remove the old panels during this long weekend we just had, I see I need a few other things while I'm at it ![]()

Wayne,
How about new fenders and front hood for a 70-72 model? Was just at 20th street and they have a lot of 911 cars there and a good selection of used parts. Joe

Real good, (did you get my e-mail; from this mornin'?)
I jacked the car up, took the gas tank out, took the front wheels off, and began extracting the panel where the front of the 2 swing arms mount, in front of the tank. I got that panel and the one in front of it, (shaped sort of like a taco,) then found one of my battery boxes was too far gone as well. Now I'm in the process of using a lot of Naval Jelly on the remainder of the area. I do like that the fenders and headlight boxes look just fine.

Wow Rick, sounds like you are right on track!!!
I am not too sure that I would even attempt that much of a repair, but if it came down to it I would try. I did get your email and sent a reply. ![]()
