Issue with my starter cranks in run position

Hi All,
My 86 911 coupe is having a issue with the starter. After a DE meet the starter stopped working, just a click. Installed a new high torque stater from our host and now, when you turn the key to the run position the starter cranks.

I hooked a volt meter to the yellow wire at the starter, it's hot in the run position and also start position.
I just replaced the Ign switch today and tomorrow Im going to remove the connector on the back side of the switch and remove the yellow wire from the pin and ohm it out and also to see if I turn the Ign switch to run if it will happen again.

Looking at the wiring diagram the yellow wire starts at the Ign switch and goes to the starter. There is no relay in-line?

Have anyone seen this before?

Thanks,
Kevin

Sounds like the electric part of your ingition key unit. Look at this part # 96461301200

Check your wiring diagram and connections carefully, you may have put a wire on the wrong terminal.
