Turn Signal Fuse Blowing
Suddenly my turn signal fuse no 11 keeps blowing. Obviously there is a short somewhere. Anyone ever have this issue and any ideas where to start?

Does the fuse blow when the turn signal stalk is not in use, or only when signaling left, or right? Have you done anything to the car recently that might have pinched a wire?
I find that most turn signal problems have to do with the socket and bulb in the housings or the wiring inside or to them. I'd start by unscrewing the lens and check the bulbs and their sockets. As a first step, this has the advantage of being easy to do. Also check if the fuse blows with the bulbs out of their sockets on the affected side.

No one would guess this.
I had the car painted about 15 years ago. I guess when they reconnected the tail lights they switched the ground and the reverse light power. So every time I put the car in reverse it was sending power to the body of the taillight. It explains why I was having a weird issue with the left turn signal on the tach lighting up every time I put it in reverse. The weird thing is why did it start blowing the fuse now.

Yeah, I could guess that, as I had a similar experience. I ended up taken out my front and rear signal light assemblies and taking them apart and correcting miswiring and other sins. Body shops do not do well with wiring or mechanical work, unless they are Porsche specialists.
Don't know why it would start blowing the fuse after all those years. However it sounds like you got it identified and solved.

Check your housings. They can "explode" in that the bulb holder guts spill out inside the housing.
Also check your engine compartment light for a short to ground. It's on the same circuit as the left side signals. It's easiest to just disconnect the electrical connector in the passenger side of the engine compartment (back in the dark corner behind the oil filter). ![]() ![]()
