911 door adjustment

Can anybody help me to sort out a door alignment problem I have? I recently had my door taken off and respected and during this process. Took off the striker plates also. The car is a 72 model. When I refitted the door and the striker plate, the door did not close flush withe the side of the car. I have tried to move the striker plate back and forth to move the close point of the door without any effect. Am I missing something ?

Thanks for your help Guy

What does the front door shut line look like? Flush?
Remove the striker , loosen the door hinge bolts slightly and close the door . Make sure front of door is aligned with front wing.
Gently reopen the door (keep it supported with one hand underneath) and tighten the bolts.
Now reinstall the striker plate. Did you keep the same number of shims as before? Wathc the relationship of the latch with the striker as the 2 meet. That should give you an idea of alignment. Then it's a matter of minor adjustments. You might need an extra shim.
It can be fiddle but when you get it perfect = joy!

Good luck ; I hope this helps ; it worked for me (obviously )
