Rear tail light housing screw
I unfortunately managed to sheer the screw head from my tail light housing cover.
Any ideas on how to remove, or am I looking at drilling out and retapping? Looks like the easyout taps start at 3mm. Im not sure exactly but I think the broken screw is 3mm. Many thanks Ed. ![]() |

You can file/grind ti flush, if it is not already. Drill it out usind a to or three step process to get just under the od of the screw. I then take a really small punch and knock out the remaining material. Just don't touch the threads.

If you do damage the threads, I have found that locktite form-A-thread works well to recreate the threads in housings like that.
The new threads easily handle 10 ft-lbs of torque without stripping.

When you seal it back up use some of this butyl rope to seal the back panel to the bucket.
