Porsche Crest 1977 911S Brake Handle issue

I need some help. I am trying to adjustment my E-brake handle so that it works. Specifically, when you set the brake handle, the light on the dash comes on. I have checked my dash light and it works fine. I also have power up into the brake handle.

I have tried adjusting the parts (3 and 8 see drawing below) that makes it work however; I just can’t get 8 bent to the right position to work (come into contact) with 3.
Anyway, if anyone knows any tricks at setting the proper angle of the copper piece (8) so that when you put everything back together the light works would be great. As you know, taking the brake handle off and putting it back on is a pain. And yes, this is a relatively small issue; I just want to get it to work if possible.

Thank you in advance for any help
