Question Any 78-79SC project cars around?? What is a reasonal price?

I'm looking for a Targa project car that has a good to fairly straight body, workable interior, great to good trans, with or without an engine or with an engine that needs some repair. I'm not sure what price range this project would be. I live in the Phoenix area. Any ideas? Thanks...J.R.

Try Dartauto.com
Dave has several P cars that could be made
into nice runners. Denver area. His website does spawn annoying other browsers though.

I paid $10K for mine. Needed paint, but very straight body with no rust, dents or accidents. Great targa top, dash, rear seats and electrical. 30,000 on fresh 3.0 and tranny.

since we are on the subject of value can anyone give me a ballpark on my 78 sc coupe?
The paint(or repaint I should say) was terribly scratched (by a dog) to bare metal in one spot. The car runs, but really rough and I should mention It has sat for two years and I am still trying to run the old gas out of the tank,it needs new carpet and front upholstery, it smokes from the drivers side cylinder bank and and leaks oil from the left side,(after changing the return tubes). It takes several cranks and holding the pedal at speed in order to warm it to stay running. I am frustrated because I know very little about the car as I bought it from a Navy wife and the hubby was in Bahrain at the time. I wish I could tell everything about the car but there is too much to mention in one posting. I hope some one can help me with these symptoms and a rough estimate on the value.

Thanks!
Norm

JR,

For sources, try Panorama, Excellence, European Car, Hemmings. Online, give www.google.com/advanced_search a try using every possible combination of search strings you can think of ...
