Did I get the right part?

Did I get the right part? I ordered the gasket for the oil pressure sending unit or switch. I've seen it called both on the board. Anyway, this is the one that is behind the CIS unit and requires a partial engine drop to reach it. The gasket I received from my Porsche dealer is made of copper. I thought this was suppossed to be a cork gasket??

Part number is 90012300920 and is called a seal ring?????

The oil pressure switch comes with its own metal sealing gasket; the gasket is trapped on the threads. The switch screws into an adapter bushing. The trapped gasket seals the switch to this adapter bushing. The adapter bushing then screws into the case and is sealed with metal sealing ring PN 900.123.044.30 acccording to my part catalogs. PN 900.123.009.20 is used to seal the oil pressure sender; it might work to seal the oil pressure switch but shouldn't be needed as the switch should come with the seal. You really should get the 900.123.044.30 sealing ring as you'll likely disturb this seal when you remove and replace the oil pressure switch. Don't forget to apply a bead of epoxy to the the crimp seal of the new switch to possibly get more leak free time out of it. The only places I'm know of that use the cork gasket are the fuel tank level sender and the oil tank level sender. Cheers, Jim
