a-pillar leatherettes

Hey guys i need you help on A-Pillars, What is the correct way to put leatherettes? I have mine removed by body shop and thrown away ...
Also, do I need foam under it, it looks like originals did not have it and leatherettes themselves look foamy...

Just wanted to complete THE job this weekend before installer comes to put windshield next week...

EV, take a look at these pics.

The original trim is attached in the photo. You can see that it wraps around the pillar and the aperture of the windscreen.


The material I used does not have a foam, like the original.

I just finished mine on a 78 targa. There is very little information to be found about this topic. I will post pics of my install as soon as the weather let's up.

I've just fund a pic (not too great) of my a-pillar with original leatherette on it, it appears that leatherette going around windshield support... so it would be like V2 pic above.

Do you have a better pic of yours?
