New 911 owner

I know but what I have been reading over the las few day what I should have done but pulled the trigger on a 1982 911 sc on Monday. Car has 52,126 miles with receipts from Porsche dealers that validate miles. Has had the tensioner fixed and was dry underneath. I believe the car is a euro car even though it history brings it back to 1982 to the Porsche dealer that it was purchased from. Is that possible?Vin is wp0zzz91zcs10
Has small rear bumpers and 160 tach. Am I correct ?

The bumperettes are definetely euro although at some stage the rear light have been changed to US style as they dont have the orange where the turn light is. Check this page Simon's Porsche 911 SC Site which has a registry for 911 SCs maybe yours is there from the PO you dont state where you live. Your VIN which is incomplete wp0zzz91zcs10 makes it an 82SC for sure the Carrera badge is wrong. Carreras only from 74 - 75 2.7 motor , 76 - 77 3.0 motor and from 84 - 89 was the 3.2 motor everything in between 78 - 84 was a 3.0 SC motor. Find your engine number to be sure.

It appears to be a Euro car that has been partially converted to US specs. Get the type number off of the engine and let us know what that is.

Cross your fingers for a 930/10. But make sure you run premium gas if it is!!

Also, the side marker lights on the fenders are a giveaway that it is RoW.

Looking at the PET, it's a 10 unless the motor was changed out. 24 more hp than the US SC. Nice.

Congrats! I recently acquired my SC and it has been fun. I like your color, is that an orange-red? Seems unusual.

The side front fender lights and the rear bumpers seem to indicate that it is a ROW (likely a Euro).....looks like a great car, welcome to the madness.

Check the voltage regulation. A wandering tach needle is often a sign of too high voltage from the charging system. That will kill things quickly. If you drive at night and see your headlights varying in brightness, that's a dead giveaway. You can check it with a voltmeter. Also, check the water level in the battery. WWear eye protection.

The gauge problem could be in the sending unit or the gauge. Check the sending unit first. A search here will turn up a how-to post.

That looks like a SC valence as the Carrera valence has flush mounted fog lights.

Sorry WPOZZZ should have noticed the whale tail which would call for the fitment of the chin spoiler to the valance

Got the car home tonight, great ride.. The tach is working only so often, I know everyone said to check the voltage but the lights are not varying in brightness. The tach is not working at all then when you hit a bump it shoots up and starts to work like a loose ground or wire?
