Pelican Parts is a business. This BBS is like my living room. I am personally insulted that you would place a post like this in my forum on my BBS.

I am one breath away from suspending your account.

If you want to support this BBS, then support Pelican. If you don't, then you're not welcome in my 'living room.' There is no free speech here. What you have done is like going into a local neighborhood hardware store and telling the customers that Home Depot has the same products for $2 less.

By the way, we also have the Carrera manual for $95 in our on-line catalog...

theres been loads of posts recommending competitors, often stating that pelican will try and price match

or are you pulling my plonker wayne?

I can't read every post. Most other posts that I have seen are recommendations for products that we don't have. If a post has already been replied to many times, I often don't have a chance to respond before many people have seen it. I do occassionally delete posts that promote my competitors. This time I chose not to, instead issuing this warning.

Keep in mind that I edited the original post. It's sole intent was to let people know about a competitor with lower prices. (and only $1 cheaper on the Carrera Manual). These types of posts are an insult to me and my company and this BBS.

I don't run this BBS to promote my competitors, and I certainly don't appreciate anyone using my server, dual T1 connection, and resources to do so.

This is a great BBS, suppoted soley by the income provided by the on-line parts catalog. I let everyone here have a pretty long leash when it comes to the discussion of topics, but I will not allow people to promote my competitors on this BBS.

I would hope that most people on this BBS would appreciate my positon on this...

Not trying to fawn on but I wisch we had something like Pelican Parts in Sweden. You are lucky..

All I can do is order from Porsche dealer, wait 3 weeks and pay up....

Got your book and hope I can pick up a copy of the new engine rebuild book while I am USA in end of June ??

I have to side with Wayne on this. This is his livelyhood and to promote a competitor is pretty ballsy.

Wayne--my deepest apologies! I had my head in some nether region of my anatomy and didn't think of the mentioned manuals as a part or something you might also be carrying. No excuse other than my own stupidity. When the manuals first came out there was a flurry of activity on this board giving various locations and their prices and I guess I just fell into that mode. Please forgive.

Very true!
One member of this BBS even posted a booksellers website glitch that got many of us a Bentley at a very small sum.

Mistakes happen. Sometimes my head is somewhere else too.

I think everyone on this board supports Wayne's call on the competitor thing....and I know that Pelican is about the only place most of us order parts from.
