Engine lid seals

Hi all,

I have seen a thread on this but can't find it.

My '70 T is missing the two rubber seals between the body panel and engine compartment lid. Just received the two seals from our host and would like to ask for two things:

a) Could anyone send me a closeup pic of how and where exactly they are mounted (especially the 'multilayered' one).

b) Could it be that I have to unmount the body end panel to mount the seal placed right in the picture?

As always... many thanks for all helpful answers!

Cooper

Seal on the left of photo seals the lid when it's closed - it has bead which slips into the valance panel. The seal on the right of photo sits between the valance panel and the body/chassis cross-beam.

My car is apart at the moment so I can't get you a photo, but I'm sure someone here will post a reference photo for you.

Hi, meanwhile I solved my questions above.

A more general question is - would I glue the seals to the body or should they hold all by themselves? What product would you recommend if I need to glue them?

As always... thanks.
