Help - 5 1/2 x 15 Heart Fuchs
![]() I was thinking to send off my spare wheel for polishing / painting and just noticed I have a Heart Fuchs and the size on the back is clearly stamped "5 1/2 x 15" It has the Fuchs stamp and 901 #s. My 911T is a 1970. What year is this Heart Fuchs from and is it rare, like the deep 6 style? I live in Maryland, can someone also tell me the best shop on the East coast to have the work done to return to original condition. Vr, Scott

The 5 1/2 Fuchs was used in 1968 only. In 1969 they switched to the 6 inch wheel.
However, I believe Porsche continued to use the 5 1/2 wheel as a spare. Probably to use up a whole lot of extra 5 1/2 Fuchs. They are rarer than a 6 but priced about the same, since its a limited market. Scott: To return them to "original" I would send them to Harvey, but if you want them done local use Wheel worx, about $125 http://www.whlworx.com/ |

Thanks. I double checked the ser #s, they are 901.361.012.04 ; yr dtd is 268
If I sent it off to the west coast -- who is the best for returning to original or the "R" look. What is the typical cost $100-200? The wheel is straight with curb rash and chipped black paint. It has an inner-tube, but holds air okay. The tire is in very good condition for 25 yrs. Vr, Scott
