Wheel Spacer Install

First of all - this is turning out to be more exhausting than the SSI install!

The crux of my issue: I am installing 21mm wheel spacers on the front of my 74 911. I removed the OEM 52mm wheel studs and installed the 72mm studs just purchased from Pelican. Upon reinstallation of the wheel, I fell like I may be hitting the top of the lug nut inside with the stud before the wheel is absolutely positively secured. It's really hard to tell, but I am definitely threading further into the lug nut than I did with the original 52mm studs and no spacers. I just feels weird, and a little to close for comfort. I did take the car for a spin around the block, and checked it when I returned; still on there good.

Any wisdom out there for me? Should I purchase longer/taller lug nuts?

Thanks in advance for any helpful opinions...

If you are using 72's you are bottoming out the alloy lug nuts. Use open end steel. I don't believe they make long deeper alloy lug nuts.

Are 66mm studs correct for 21mm spacers? I'd like to use a pair on the rear of my '84 to fill the fenders better.

Well - that kinda sucks. To reiterate the question above - I'm guessing that I should have gone the 66mm route then, right? If so, I may just order the 66mm and install; I like the look of the closed end lug nuts.
