Front strut question

Hi guys. I was wondering if someone can tell me what year car my front struts came off of. The reason I'm asking is beacause the car is a 1966 911, but the PO has done a complete swap with a 1978 donor car he got his hands on. Including motor, transmission, turbo front fenders, widebody, and so on. So I'm assuming the car has some original parts as well as some parts off the 78 car he used. I'm shopping around for some new inserts but don't know what year I should be looking at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Here are the part numbers i got off the strut. 911-341-079-04. And just above of that number there is 1-0211-32-172-1

Oh and if anyone can give some advice on some inserts that would be great too. I've been leaning more towards the Billstiens but would like too hear some reviews about the Boge's if anyone is or has used them.

Look most of the way down the page under Boge Strut assys. Believe its a 1986-1989 model strut.

Boge will give you a slightly better ride. Bilsteins are a little more sporty.

Yah I was looking at those already but the number is slightly different. Do you think that matters?

Sorry about that.

Might look here:

Boge Struts

Is this correct? Bilstein insert for '73 boge strut

Appears that they are 1970's vintage struts. Would not toss them. Offer them up here on the used parts board and find a new home.

So i guess I should be looking at inserts for a 73. Thanks for the help. I would rather not sell them, only beacause shipping to the U.S. would cost a fortune and there is not much of a market here in Canada, and I dont have another set at the moment. What's the difference from those compared to let's say a 1978?

If you could post a picture, it would be helpful. Show all numbers, the nut that holds the insert in at the top of the strut, brake caliper, and bottom balljoint attachment.
My '73 Koni struts have a 73 stamped on them.

Here are some pictures of the strut and the insert. The insert has no name or part numbers on it so I have no idea what they are.

The part #'s are as follow's- Top retaining nut- 1-233-000-0023-G-W10

Strut #'s are- 911-341-079-04, and just underneath that # is- 1-0211-32-172-1.

Judging by the internally threaded gland nut and the later style ball joint attachment they look consistent with '73 year struts. My old Boge struts had Boge stamped on them....
What does the brake caliper look like?

Yah they do have a Boge stamp. Here is a picture of the caliper.

They have an ATE stamp on them. Would I be able to get some Billstien inserts for the struts? Or am I limited to Boge's. Thanks for the help.

Those look like SC calipers. I just read that the internal threads were used up to '85. So it looks like 78 to 84 struts.

You should be able to buy Bilstein inserts for those struts.
