Please help identify these seats

I bought my 90 C4 used, and it had the incorrect seats (it was a theft recovery vehicle). I just purchased a used pair of leather seats from a 91 C2 and I'd like to sell mine, but I'm not sure what to call them (or how much to ask, for that matter, although I'll probably put them on Ebay and let the market determine price).

They feel like nylon cloth, and they are black with the word Porsche all over them, also in black. The driver's seats is 4 way powered, and they are extremely comfortable - in fact, I'm a bit nervous that the C2 seats may not be as comfortable, but I thought that it made more sense to install the proper leather seats in case I sell the car. Following are some pics - any ideas?

I'm not an expert in water cooled Porsches but, those seats look just like those on a friends 1986 951 (944 Turbo).

I'd say, if they are more comfortable, keep them. You are the one using/enjoying the car now, let the future owner worry about it!

I replaced both of my SC's seats with Recaro SRD's, not original but very comfortable.

I'm putting the new ones in because when I decide to sell the car, I'm going to want to sell it quickly. I figure if I can get $250 for the old pair, then the upgrade will cost $400, which seems reasonable enough.

They appear to be '84 to '89 standard high back seats that I believe were used in 944s, 928s, and 911s all throughout the eighties. That's what I have in my car.

Your's just have the Porsche embosed cloth incerts... a buddies 944 has the exact same seats in his 944.

Monkeyboy,

I don't think it would be hard to sell whenever you wanted to. I personally think about the itme when I get to enjoy the car and then whenever its time to sell I'd figure out if I made money or, what was the cost per grin I got from the car.

If you are more comfortable with those seats, keep them. Let the next owner worry about that, when it comes time to sell it, all buyers will make a case to reduce the price. You can always come back and indicate that you replaced the seats for more comfortable ones!!!

How did you get that screenname????

I haven't sat in the leather C2 seats... if they're not as comfortable as the old ones I probably won't install them. Since my car is a theft recovery, I don't want to start the next owner wondering how much else isn't original (actually just the seats, mirrors, radio, jack). If the new ones are as comfortable as the old ones, I'd rather have leather. Any idea of the value of the cloth seats?

As for my screen name, it's a long story. I'm very lazy and am often barefoot. If I can pick something up with my toes, I usually will instead of bending over, which usually results in "MonkeyBoy" comments from the wife. There. You outed me.

Paco,

Regretfully I don't follow soccer, most of my friends and clients do. I'm an F1 and sportcar fan!!!!!

Saludos, Juan
