CIS mixture ?

Spent quite a few hours last night reading archived posts about setting the mixture, but still have this question....

When you twiddle the little screw (the invisible one near the fuel distributor), are you richening or leaning the mixture throughout the entire range of engine operation?
Or just the idle?

The entire mixture will be changed - cw to richen, ccw to lean. 81'SC

Thanks for that, lagoon.

Any other CIS (Confounded Injection System) specialists wish to comment?

Totally in agreement. Beyond idle, the effect is global.

Not just idle. It will richen the entire range.

If you have an O2 sensor, the duty cycle should tell you whether you are within factory spec. Also, the spark plugs will give you information. I say don't be afraid. Too lean is the worst outcome, but even then your car will surge and pop if it's way too lean.
