Power bleeder pressure?

I just overhauled my front brakes (pads, rotors, lines) on my G50 Carrera. A friend dropped by, so we bled them out the old fashioned way. On the first corner, I wasn't paying close enough attention to the reservoir and I sucked it dry. No biggie. Refilled it, restarted that corner and it bled out nicely.

My problem is that I didn't realize that the clutch shared the same reservoir until I drove the car to bed in the brakes. It's pretty clear that I have introduced some air in the system. It works, but barely - and it's pretty annoying. Looks like I'll have to bleed the clutch slave next weekend. I'm going to use a Motive Power Bleeder to pressurize the system.

How much is enough/safe pressure to pump into the system?

Thanks!

5 to 15 psi. You will not need to put brake fluid in the motive power bleeder. Just put air on top of the brake fluid. I love the hydraulic clutch but hate that bleeder!

Thanks for the responses. 10 PSI it is.

On not putting fluid in the bleeder: that is a small reservoir and I had to add fluid each time I bled a corner. I understand that the lines back to the clutch slave are very long.

You all just depressurize, remove the cap, add fluid, screw on cap, repressurize? How many times do you have to do that?

sometimes less - just dont let it get too low, it takes a while to bleed it empty...you have lots of time to watch and catch it

the benefit is clean up of your motive bleeder and it wont have old brake fluid in it collecting water which is worthless when you need it

I pump mine to about 12:00, halfway. Can't remember the psi. How many times you have to stop and refill depends on how low you let the reservoir get. I tend to do if more often, having sucked it dry once, so maybe 3 or 4 times.
